Remember when they announced a brand new version of ds2, with massive graphical improvements, and then released the same game with slightly remixed enemy placements and the same awful lighting and textures lmao

And also DX11-only, which borked all of the graphical mods people had for regular DaS2.

the best part about that was the weapon durability was broken for PC (due to 60fps), so with sotfs they just broke it for everyone instead of fixing it

It was sharper and had a great color palette. The Current Thing in graphic design is umpteen types of blurring post-process effects, so the end result ends up looking muddy. All because higher-res assets in modern games create a lot of visual noise that needs to be softened.
