Sell me on this game. I heard it's a fusion between tf2 and l4d which are one of my favourite games ever. Also is the engineer class any good? I loved playing engi in tf2.

It's fun, I'm having fun. Buy and refund within two hours if you don't have fun.
it's reddit: the game
does it ever stop being "samey"? i'm level 15 with 20 hours and every mission type just feels like
>waow pick up some rocks or connect the tubes while SPODERS attack!
>3 whole types of SPODERS!
>Also is the engineer class any good? I loved playing engi in tf2.
he's a lot of fun. especially once you get some proper unlocks for the smart rifle and become a single target tank shredder, while leaving your turret to do the swarm clear
it has nothing to do with TF2 just because it has classes
best coop game of all time though, get it
>I heard it's a fusion between tf2 and l4d
It's more like a tool-based platformer crossed with L4D, nothing much really to do with TF2
All the classes are (about) as good and necessary for the team as each other.
Engi is fun normally gets most Kills if used two turruts.
But most the game your job is make sure you build them two turruts lockdown areas and put up platforms and set up defense proximity mines.
But still his wepons kick ass.
Worst thing about him is move ability getting around and getting out end missions. You need others put zip lines dig for you to get quick escape or your reliant on your platforms which is to slow and to limited ammo in end.
Game is fun
>Worst thing about him is move ability
if you spec your grenade launcher into fire+aoe it's actually useful to take the rocketjump overclock. you get so much more ammo and a boost on reload speed on top
the mobility is just a byproduct really, but can be used to get to some ridiculous spots only a scout can get to
It's good fun
It was shilled hard as fuck when it first came out i don't know why. It's shit, boring and basic as fuck. It's not fun whatsoever and i don't see the point it reason in playing it
>bunkering
>wanting to bunker so bad they'll do it without a driller
They deserve it, that and the inevitable shellback/bulk the AI will spawn in to flush them out
It's a bot killing game with nice world building
no, it's samey all over
If you don't find joy in mining minerals, cooperating with other people to do objectives, and earning upgrades that make your guns different, you're playing the wrong game. At no point does the gameplay change.
>bunkering
that's just your assumption. they were tunneling to the next objective and the guy on the right was just kinda lost in brainfog throghout the game
The game is very fun since the moment to moment gameplay shines when a mission going smoothly goes south due to various factors or player fuck-ups. Add the weapon choices and Overclock system and I found myself really sticking to this game for quite some time. My only complaints is sometimes you get that Biome experience that is really shitty all around due to random cave gen and Haz 5 needing to offer more rewards. With the new update coming I hope the new guns offer something more since the Crossbow looks like shit and the Microwave gun seems underwhelming for intial reveals, also more mission types
The fun in this game comes; much like most of the greatest co op titles ever devised from cooperation with fellow players and just how abhorrently wrong a mission can go.
One of the reasons Left 4 Dead 1/2 stood the test of time is because their balancing was meticulously considered the sadistic AI director keeps every run of the map interesting and unique.
Same with the Borderlands titles or hell even games like Diablo.
What Deep Rock Galactic has goin for itself is an awesome community (even with the occasional Any Forumstard outlier), very carefully considered balancing of weapons and tools to allow for diverse builds, and random cave generation so each mission feels unique.
Yes the objectives always stay the same but the fun comes from interacting with your team mates to overcome each mission with their weapons and traversal tools.
Spotted the filthy leaf lovers.

Thread theme song:
youtube.com
You play as gold-hungry Dwarfs.
IN SPACE.
You work for a greedy galactic mega corp, that doesn't give shit about your well being.
You mine a hostile alien planet filled with insects the size of an elephant.
And between missions you get drunk at your own space station and blast silly license-free disco songs at your robotic bar.
It's simple on paper, extremely well executed and satisfying when you actually get your hands on it. The atmosphere and attitude are amazing, and outright funnel people to co-operate.
There's no competitive features at all, everything gets shared, and going beyond the stated call of duty + getting the whole team out alive grants bigger bonuses that help everyone.
Gameplay-wise the game's around 2/3 about 3D spelunking and only 1/3 about shooting aliens in the face.
The random generated maps are some of the best ever created with procedural systems, and the alien-yet-natural caves setting makes them feel even more right. There's like a dozen different Biomes with distinct feel, fauna and flora, over half a dozen mission types, dozens of random mutators (ie. low oxygen / gravity, explosive enemies...) , and various other challenge altering feats.
Oh, and of course the whole world (*) is fully destructible!
All four classes are not only very distinct, but also extremely handy and powerful. Having one of each type is not mandatory, but can aid tremendously in the missions, as the game can become kind of a 3D environmental puzzle experience at times, requiring you to not only locate objectives, but also figure out how to reach 'em safely or fast.
I could rant about DRG for all day, but I will end up with this:
This thing is an absolute masterpiece, and beats the living FUCK out of ALL other co-op games ever made.
I got both L4D and KF games, PD2, Sanctum1-2, etc, and I got tired of those after 100-400 hours.
DRG I still play DAILY.
Look into weapon overclocks you unlock after promotions and deep dives
Was extremely bored of the game and never understood why anyone would play it until i learned about these
>heard it's a fusion between tf2 and l4d which are one of my favourite games ever.
I guess you could say that, and somebody will always throw in the "lol MINECRAFT!!" meme, but in reality, the DRG is a game of its own. And it does its thing damn good.
It's a small game, with a huge heart.
The whole things like 2GB in total, and can offer thousands of hours worth of fun. And there's no shitty cash-trap monetization things at all; you just buy the game, and that's it.
You even got the easiest private servers ever created + full modding capabilities, out of the box.
>is Engi class any good?
There is no "bad" classes at all in this game, but Engineer is easily one of the more versatile AND powerful classes.
I mostly main Scout, but Engi is my close 2nd, and the one I grab if I need to ensure high DPS and kill count.
>Driller with hair drills
Muh dick
how do you have so many resources? not buying upgrades and forging cosmetics?
Seems like a game for actual autists. It's shit
you sound like a miserable cunt.
You call that "a lot"?
This is after I bought and unlocked EVERYTHING a couple months back.
I want to titfuck that engineer
You can always tell the detractors are shitters who got filtered by hazard 3 or yelled at for being drooling retards and got their egos hurt because this isn't some shitty souls game or something
Stopped playing after they ruined the missile launcher
Gonna wait until the new update to take a look at it again
just stick with the autocannon.
it's actually even worse:
some folks literally never figured out how to change the Hazard level, and didn't get that you can only equip one (1) upgrade per horizontal tier on weapons and gear.
Some of these elves in disguise haven't even explored the Space Rig.
The worst kind however cheat their levels sky high, and then end up getting lost and downed in a H3 simple mining mission with complexity 1.
It is however cute how ez these greenbeards make it to spot them from the crowd.
>tfw keep playing but feel like I'm nearly at the point where I've unlocked everything that there is to unlock
Hope the next update adds more modifiers or something
