Why are From such absolute dexfags?

Dexterity
>increases damage of dex weapons
>makes you cast faster
>reduces falling damage
>makes it harder to fall off your horse

>Strength
>increases damage of str weapons
>that's it

On top of that strength weapons not only are slower and weigh more than dex weapons, they also deal less damage when you consider that a dex weapon gets twice the hits in. It's so poorly balance it's absurd.

in reality STR builds are the most braindead way to beat the game, you just duel wield two big fuckers, pop some buffs and watch bosses die to a couple of jump attacks that are extremely risk free

yeah if you want to use anything other than busted jump attacks then STR becomes nearly unplayable

>makes you cast faster
If it's anything like older games it's like a 10 frame difference with massive dex investments, not really anything worth considering when building a character
>reduces falling damage
functionally worthless with how falling damage works in ER, you either survive a drop or you don't, it doesn't increase your survivability range
>makes it harder to fall off your horse
never heard anything about this, proof?

meanwhile STR increases your physical defense which is pretty much universally useful

The reality is that you shouldn't level Dex or strength past the point of weapon requirements.

It's clear this game wants you to use a lot of magic and faith.

>makes it harder to fall off your horse
Are you sure?

Also does torrent's health ever get upgraded?

>Are you sure?
Well, that's what the in-game tooltip says.

20dex + radagon talisman gets you to cast speed cap I believe, it's a very significant difference

But if you use magic you didn't beat the game

str increases defense more than other stats retard and that alone is stronger than any of the other meme effects dex has

meanwhile
>dex
>do shit damage
>never stagger enemies

>str
>do shitloads of damage
>stagger enemies with every hit

strength fags seething as they realize dex was always superior, kek

fair enough

>meanwhile STR increases your physical defense
Yeah that also seems fair. If DEX is better than STR I feel like it's got more to do with the weapons themselves and the effects they can proc.

Interesting. I'm STR with some FTH and am using the latter a bit more since getting the lightning bolt, wonder how big the difference is.

You need to realize that From didn't want people to be pure anything builds. The best thing to do is level both str and dex if you use melee only, and both of them and your caster stat if you want to do spells. To be fair, you could do dex/int or fth more easily then str/int or fth.

Is it significant enough to sacrifice 20 points that could otherwise be put into more INT to buff your damage or even VIG to make sure you don't get splattered?

what class starts at 0 dex? you'll probably have around 16 anyway for weapon requirements

I kind of wish they kept strength boosting the equip load like in the network test just to see what that would be like. Or an intrinsic boost to poise or something. Dex and int are just better in every single way.

all this shit is pretty much irrelevant
it all comes down to the individual weapons
it just happens that moonveil and rivers of blood are OP since they're grorious nippon steel katanas, although both of these aren't even pure dex weapons

Pretty sure a katana would just snap in half against a plate armor.
