Audience just wasn't there. It's a good game, though.
I wish it had been on the Wii U or maybe pushed to the Switch instead. 3DS visuals are too crunchy, especially for a stylized game like this.

It was a clever little strategy game that didn't find its audience.

When it was revealed everyone was really put off by the art direction. I thought it looked fine.
Game itself was a lot of fun. The levels are tight and winding and I liked the line-of-sight mechanics.

Wow I completely forgot this game's existence

Music was pretty cool. The game as a whole screams "Passion Project."

I feel bad for IntSys. They finally tried to do something that wasn't Paper Mario, Warioware or Fire Emblem and it flopped.

Artstyle just didn't work well on 3DS
Game wasn't promoted enough
Demo could've been better and shown off more of the game
Journalists shit on it because it destroyed their majora's mask 3D "leaks"
Enemy turn speed-up wasn't in during launch

Overall it's a great game and the best game IS has made in years. Great soundtrack and characters.

For a Japanese kids game it sure got a lot right about Lovecraft Lore.

They also pumped some good money into the voice acting. You've got Adam Baldwin as Henry Fleming, and motherfucking Dr. Venture himself playing Lovecraft.

Post your favorite character and future characters you hope to see in the forever non-existent sequel.

>they flat out mention shub-niggurath
Someone at IS really has a boner for lovecraft with all of the love it got

Does he know what a Rusty Venture is?

>Sequel deals with a Tripod Invasion from Mars.

>make the cutest girl the worst character in the game
Why?

Eh, the game was simple enough that you could have at least one character you only kept on out of love for them, rather than usefulness, thanks to the subweapons.
I never used Randolph's bait weapon. I just gave him the crossbow and had him only go for weak spots.

Nintendo of America

Good game hamstrung by DIEVERSITY.

Journalists hated it because they went to an E3 showing for "a new Intelligent Systems IP" and got pissed when it wasn't Majora's Mask for some reason
Niche appeal with an art style that didn't look good on 3DS
Then it had voice actors on both sides of Gamergate (Wil Wheaton and Adam Baldwin) so people shat on it for that.
Waiting time for turns was also a bit much at launch (but most people weren't using enemy phase to plan out their next turn either).

I pre-ordered it and played enough to unlock the secret character, and did a full Fire Emblem amiibo playthrough. I thought it was a great game.

nothing, game is good

I wish they'd remake/port this game on Switch to give it another chance, maybe throw in a few more characters or something. It had so much SOUL

It was okay, which is far worse for sales and staying power than being good or bad.

The artstyle made it look like a licensed game for a kids cartoon, and immediately put people off of it till the gameplay was shown. With the rise in SRPGs these days, I'd love to see it make a comeback with a port/remake.
