I love Musou games but haven't played a "real" one outside of Hyrule warriors in like a decade. Are there any musou games on PC right now that are halfway decent?

The Fire Emblem sequel is going to be the new landmark title representing the Musou genre, mostly because strategy games like Fire Emblem were destined to shift to the Musou model the same way turn-based RPGs transitioned to action RPGs to appeal to the AAA crowd

Shit I'd actually be interested in that Fire Emblem Musou garbage had it played like Nioh. Nioh 1 had you sieging a castle and you fought along side two other Ninjas. It felt exactly like what Dynasty Warriors thinks it is. Nioh can play like a badass hack n slash whenever it feels like it.

Nigga what? Musou is nothing like Fire Emblem. The original Fire Emblem Warriors game was trash anyway and I don't expect Three Hopes to be any better. I fucking hates Souls games but that combat style matches FE way more since in high level gameplay, generally everyone dies in one hit in Fire Emblem games. Even the Final boss. The Final boss can also one hit kill you though. That's where the tension from FE comes from. Musou games are shit because they feel like they're on auto pilot. Even stuff like Kirby has far more aggressive enemies than Musous's do. In Musou games, they just stand there surrounding you even in the hardest modes.

I occasionally go back to BERSERK and the Band of the Hawk every now and then. It's fun as fuck to be Guts and just go wild on hordes of enemies. It is kind of lacking in replayability compared to other musou titles, but it's worth picking up when it gets a 75% off sale.
