That's their fault for not being creative and using toon magic to keep Kirby from ever being harmed. Remember he's just a pink marshmallow. Crushed by a giant enemy? He flattens like a pancake and happily pops back into being a ball. Gets chewed on by a giant dragon? No problem you see him smiling the whole time as he stretches like gum between their teeth and walks away unscathed. Stabbed by a fucking spear? It can't even pierce through his stretchy skin just conforms around the tip.
