Good God no. They try and claim "you can start at any arc!" but then will reintroduce characters you haven't seen for more than half the series duration.

Look, they are not self contained. Good chunk of what happen in sky is important in Zero/Azure and Cold Steel you will get lost. And for the love of Tita do not start with Cold Steel, only unironic schizos start with Cold steel.

I don't know anything about this series but I'm excited for the legend of nayuta only because it uses the ys ark style gameplay

Nayuta is Ys at 50% speed for casuals. It is extremely easy even on the hardest difficulty, and the bosses are a joke. If you're an Ys fan you'll be bored to death. Not to mention the repetitive PSP-style play the same stages over and over again gameplay.
