the "pile of everything blobs" issue was a problem in 7 and 8 too, and no one cared about that back then. Especially for 7.
The bigger issue with 12 is that it's brown and boring. It lacks any color, character, anything resembling an engaging plot, an actual protagonist, entertaining characters barring maybe balthier like twice in the game's 20 hour run, or even decent play mechanics. 7 and 8 had none of those problems, or at least not as badly, so no one really cared about having a bunch of stat piles.
