Capcom decided to try and make a high caliber fighting game on a shoe string budget with outsourced developers, while having one arm tied behind their back by Disney in terms of roster.
Through a half assed effort from both sides, the brand is tarnished and dead. Modders are revitalizing UMVC3 with modded characters and it's pretty great to live the dream of "What if Marvel 3 got more support and content?"
