How badly rushed/unfinished is ER compared to other souls games?
How badly rushed/unfinished is ER compared to other souls games?
It's more finished than Dark Souls 1 and 2 the rest have it beat.
It doesn't actually have any zones that feel rushed or unfinished, which is unusual for a souls game. At least from what I noticed. There are reused bosses and zone layouts, of course, but that's just a symptom of the game being open world. Even the reused bosses feel more like a deliberate choice rather than a "oh shit we have one day to finish this level before we ship" feeling that I got from certain zones in Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 especially.
it doesn't feel rushed. however, it is an open world game, which is much worse.
Did you play anything past Lyndell at all?
More finished than 1, 2, and 3
Less finished than BB and Sekiro
It's not unfinished, in fact it's very polished - which is actually worse because the game itself is tedious to get through.
>It doesn't actually have any zones that feel rushed or unfinished,
Consecrated snowfiled, Mountaintops of the Giants. One of the biggest areas in the game, yet it feels completely empty. Full of enemy recolors except now they deal frost damage. There's a total of one (1) enemy that's completely new in the entire area.
They have to patch in portions of questlines they left out on release.
Every single zone after mountaintop feels rushed. Not to mention the copy pasted locations and building all over the place.
Open world is cancer.
I didn't pay much attention to the story but why is the final boss a fucking alien?
The last areas definitely feel rushed. Farum Azula wasn't that bad, but Mountaintop of the Giants was not, by all means, properly finished
>There's a total of one (1) enemy that's completely new in the entire area.
Which one, the fire giant?
I thought the snowfield was deliberately empty to make the snow-storm blocking your vision and lack of landmarks more disorienting. Kind of like the massive empty land of that cancerous snowfield in the Dark Souls 2 DLC
yes. i'm sure they planned the asset reuse consider the general formula is
>fight boss in a room
>fight boss on horse
>fight boss in a duo with another boss you fought in a room and on a horse
which is why i said it's an open world game, which is much worse. compare it to dark souls 1, an actual rushed game, where they just dropped capra demons and dragon legs and shit in pretty uninspired flat environments. yeah, i stand by it.
The intro mentions that the (((Great Will))) sent the seeds for the tree down to the planet so that thing is just part of it
You two have definitely never played DaS1-3.
And you three have definitely never played this game.
>There's a total of one (1) enemy that's completely new in the entire area.
Archers, wolf-riding archers, Death Rite bird. Three. And the variations like Misbegotten Crusader have unique aspects.
The albinauric archer cunts.
>rushed
really? didnt they take their sweet ass time with it
According to them it is in a much better state than any other souls game. No sign of massively shifted assets at the last moment like the trilogy or tons of cut content like Bloodborne, similar to Sekiro.
BB is one of the most unfinished Souls games though.
>Death Rite bird
You can find that in Liurna Academy Gate Town during the night.
>And the variations like Misbegotten Crusader have unique aspects.
What? You could say that about the Banished knights too. All that changes is that now they telport deal frost damage. Not exciting at all.
so so. the drop in quality 2/3rds in is normal but quest lines being broken but still left in isn't.
>Death Rite bird
It's in Limgrave at night time. Can't remember where, I think east of the warmaster shack. It's actually in some of the other areas, too.
Bloodborne is the most finished experience I think.... if you do not count the Chalice Dungeons. Dark Souls 3 feels the most unfinished to me (and it's not even the worst in the series).
How?
How is Sekiro finished? It's the shortest game with no DLC, retread of old areas, killing the same bosses multiple times as well as having a boss rush as post-game content
Not rushed or unfinished at all. Just boring and uninspired. And fucking empty, except for dogs and knights.
Lol no, Technically DeS is the most finished. Just had one entire zone removed but otherwise rest of the game remains the same. BB had a lot cut and reshuffled, but nowhere as bad as 2 or 3.
>Every single zone after mountaintop feels rushed
But that's the last zone...
>And you three have definitely never played this game.
user, what do you want? it's a shit open world game, but it isn't rushed. the most rushed feeling area was the haligtree and even then it's not the worst offender.
>every single zone after you beat the game
What DID user mean by this? If anything, mountaintop is the rushed part and Farum Azula is there to make up for no legacy dungeon inside the snow area itself, since it and Haligtree have their own designs.
What the fuck kind of final boss was this? Radagon hyped me up for a "real" second phase and then he just turns into whatever the hell this thing is supposed to be and the fight itself is lame as shit, just dodge his barrage of projectiles and magic while it runs away the entire time
