Xbox and Xbox
just bought the xbox controller for the elden ring
I dont like how deep the thumbsticks are compared to the 360
Xbone for best out of the box experience with no hassle, PS5 if you intend on emulating Switch stuff that requires gyro
Xbox
WHY IS THE XBOX D-PAD SO FUCKING LOUD?
I have dualsense and it's ok
would be even better if more games had haptic feedback support
ive got xbox one s years ago and i love it
i wish new xbox controller had gyro, its such a shame they didnt include it
Xbox for 3d, Dualshock 4 for 2d
Why? I just don't trust the ps5 controller because im worried about compatibility

ps4/ps5 - dinput
xbox - xinput
PS4/PS5 controller are perfectly well supported with DirectInput (like any generic controller is) but because all gamedevs only know how to use XInput (which only supports/assumes the controller is and xbox one) you have to emulate an xbox controller to work with that API
Xinput is Microsoft's proprietary controller drivers, compared to Dinput. There is no disadvantage to Dinput just that it doesn't have native support in every application. You can just use DS4Windows or Steam Config or about a half dozen other input wrappers to have it seen as Xinput as well as rebind buttons, adjust deadzones, do turbo/macros, action sets/layers, etc.
Xbox, but not by much. Dualsense gets stick drift much sooner than it.
The Xbox controller has been shit for 20 years. Try playing a 2D fighter with one.
Sounds like the last time you used one was 20 years ago.
ds4

But 2D fighter are also shit for the last 20 years.
Get with the times grandpa. xbox dpad has been good for a decade now.
I have both and the ps controller is far superior
xbox dpads are stiff as fuck. the only real advantage they have over dualshock's is the location of it, even then it's still borderline unusable for 2d games
