Is NieR: Automata an unabashed masterpiece or are there glaring flaws?
Is NieR: Automata an unabashed masterpiece or are there glaring flaws?
The biggest flaw is that it's not fun game to play.
Debatable
thrilling footage of the player doing somthing you will never make use of in actual gameplay
It doesn't need to be useful to be fun.
literally the biggest try hard game I've ever played, just take philosophy 101 and don't drop out this time. Weebs are literal brainlets in all facets, and this game and discussions about it prove that fact time and time again
Can I get this from a philosophy class?
it's flawed but the more I look back at it the more I like it and I want to fuck toobie
It's a game with many flaws. Performance issues, crashes, bugs and subpar graphics for its generation.
But at the same time, there are so many great things about it, some that may be things you wouldn't expect from a game. It's a product of love, Taro put his heart into making it and you can feel it in every side quest, every character, every location, every piece of its soundtrack. It manages to be a game that by the end is an experience worth more than the sum of its parts. And to experience that you have to go into this game with an open mind, let yourself be absorbed by it, maybe even ignore some of its flaws, and ultimately try to have fun with it.
It can be a life changing experience if played truthfully, but if you go into it with the pseudo game journalist mindset that plagues Any Forums these days, you're gonna comepletely miss everything it has to offer.
It's one of the few games these days that have not a soul, but a heart. One that beats so hard, it makes every flaw surrounding it fade away.
>duh uh acushually it's just philosophy for retards, okay
I literally see this every thread and nobody can explain exactly what this means besides Taro not jerking off their favorite underground stoic
Yes it has glaring flaws, notably the combat and pacing and repetitive, shallow tasks are all objectively awful.
Typical "I am so smart" brainlet trying to flex. You are like little baby.
There is no such thing as a flawless game, nor does a game have to be flawless for it to be a masterpiece.
I’d say Automata is one of the best games ever made, especially in terms of how it utilizes the intrinsic qualities of games as an artistic medium to convey its medium. Many games heralded for having amazing stories could be, if given the proper care, adapted into books or films and achieved a similar if not the same effect as the original work. I cannot say the same for Automata
You objectively got filtered.
>*convey its message
I really should be sleeping right now
It's the only game where EVERY SINGLE SIDEQUEST connects back thematically with the main storyline. Every one contains useful information and foreshadowing. Most games are like to throw in stuff for filler.
mfw square greenlit a anime adaptation of Automata
it's gonna suck so much ass, it's impossible to adapt this shit
I regret not doing the sidequests.
>Performance issues, crashes, bugs and subpar graphics for its generation.
worked on my machine
people saying the game looks bad are just grasping at straws too, it looks good and is probably the best looking Japanese game overall
This
There's some flaws to the game. You can tell where the budget is lacking. But I don't think these small flaws take away from the overall experience.
In regards to combat, it's as good as you make it. You can mash Square forever or actually do weapon switching and air combos and use your pod abilities and so on. It's your choice.
Based user.
What is this supposed to prove? It's good because there's a bunch of balls coming at you?
>combat
>flawed
filtered
Yeah, it didn't work for the majority of people tho. The port is terrible, like most Japanese ports for that matter.
I didn't care tho, it was the first game in years that made me ignore its issues, and I loved it all the way through regardless of every shit it threw at me.
Biggest flaw is the devs have to beg people to play more to get more endings
It's gonna be another route user, it's 100% going to be completely different and lead into Taro's next console title
>glaring flaws?
Texture resolution
They literally added that in a patch because 50% of the reviewers thought that ending A was the end of the entire game, they aren't beginning people to play
Games are not little silly things because of the industry budgets, not some sob story about whore robots.
cope
Nice projection kek
I can't imagine how anyone could beat "ending" A and thinking that was the whole game. There was no story, just things happening. Jesus Christ people.
>projection
you obviously don't even know what that means
>Typical "I am so smart" brainlet trying to flex. You are like little baby.
learn english, then learn philosophy, then play better games
>literally coping
>tells others to cope
yea you be projectin aight
please explain in detail how I am coping user, I'm really interested to hear this one
>learn english
Just shut up already you dumb fucking newfaggot, you are embarrassing yourself
>you just didn't play it right!!!
what a fucking shitty post, also the sidequest were all garbage fetch/kill quests.
You browse Any Forums and still underestimate the stupidity of the average gamer?
There's a reason this game has low completion rates.
wait you could do that?
Is taro gonna be involved in the anime? If he is I bet its just as "consultant"
Defend it then. Prove it's good.
Simple, by telling others to cope. You, in fact are coping. Dare I say, you are seething as well? Malding perhaps?
>embarrassing yourself
you are the one spergging out here kek
It's an unabashed masterpiece and there are glaring flaws
>y-y-you just ARE OKAY!
thought so
Hi, pseudo game journo. Nice of you to reply. You're so good at it, you also missed what my shitpost was trying to say.
>also the sidequest were all garbage fetch/kill quests.
You didn't play even a quarter of them if that's what you think.
