>Tarnished leaves his line of sight for one second
>huh, guess he died

I hate that faggot so much.

Is he an omen? Or just a cursed fella

He still stays and upgrades your gear after his chains are broken.

I love staying there and listen to him struggling to hit that anvil with his british accent.

hnh... needs to slay... a bloody god... *clink*... *clink...

He might just be a really weird omen, wish we got more omen lore

>Make an NPC serve an incredibly vital role to the player's progression and growth
>Make NPCs throughout the series that are the sole way for the player to level up and upgrade/customize weapons
>Give them multiple lines of dialogue for every repeated time the player talks to them

Why do they keep doing this? It's fucking Bearer Seek Seek Lest all over again. Make them say their whole script during the first meeting, then just limit them to a basic line like, "Thought you were dead, let's get to work," on every subsequent meeting.

I know it's such a pointless thing to complain about, but mashing through his line every time I wanted to see what weapons I could upgrade was exhausting by hour 50+.

I took this thread for dead.

Hewg is almost lucky compared to the rest of the Hold. Everyone else ends up dead or worse. It's interesting that they say he's "rooted" to it, so the death of the Hold that the player experiences is similar to his mind losing its grip. When the Hold is empty, he is as well.

Roderika is in almost a worse state, since she's still very much aware of how lively it was and who Hewg used to be. She came because everyone she cared about died and the same thing happened at the Hold.

>Who are you?
>Oh... I must be a blacksmith.
>Heh... Now, let's get smithing.
I love him best when he suddenly gets Alzheimer's from the Erd Tree burning.

>Hewg is almost lucky compared to the rest of the Hold. Everyone else ends up dead or worse.

Don't know if I'd say that's "better" really. It's obviously a personal thing, but I don't know if I'd rather be outright killed, or lose all sense of reality/the world/my memories.

Roderika definitely has it the worst though. She's still alive and she gets to see everything literally burn down around her.

I get the feeling you're the bad guy in this game.

Misbegotten

he’s one of those scaly misbegotten guys but slightly less fucked looking

>hewg doesn't understand object permanence

Most of the time I did die whenever I left

Id say the default ending is definitely not you restoring the elden ring and the golden order, motivations and the actions you take in game dont line up to you taking the "correct" path of lordship but rather baing manipulated by outside forces for there own gain ie, the default, ranni, and fia ending

The others seem to imply you put the pieces together and are deciding to either fuck it all up or make the gods a super uncorruptible ai

Nah, maybe a bit morally grey, but I wouldn't say you play as the "bad guy" necessarily. The world was already kinda fucked and would've continued to dwindle into further and further ruin. Metaphorically, you're basically coming in to burn down the dilapidated house so that something new can be built on the ashes.

Fuck the golden order.
