Has a decent phase 1 aside from his no startup triple holy arrows attack that he can just throw at any time

>Has a decent phase 1 aside from his no startup triple holy arrows attack that he can just throw at any time
>Phase 2 is total shit with a boss constantly running from you with no horse

Why do so many Phase 2's in this game fall apart in the last 1/3rd? Theres exceptions like Hoarah Loux.

Am on NG+3 and am getting filtered by them both. Not sure if I am imagining it, but it feels like their poise and bleed resistance got buffed. Their damage is insane but not sure if that's just shitty Fromsoft scaling.

I will say I hate the hammer banging on the ground AOE he does. It is easy enough to dodge, but the last one you have to be perfect otherwise it will catch you as you come out of your roll. It is almost like the last hammer bang AOE has a recoil.

>Maliketh phase 1 is aggressive but doable especially if you have brass shield or barricade before the nerf
>Phase 2 eats your HP if you at all engage and does crazy DMC shit
>They also give you a useless item to use against him that only works to parry ONE of his attacks at a specific time

>no startup triple holy arrows attack that he can just throw at any time
youre just bad at the game

Yeah lets keep denying that some bosses either imput read or have a no startup attack or both

I can beat Radagon no problem and I still have no clue how to dodge his holy shotgun attack. Please, enlighten us.

>No new posts
Radagon can do multiple moves in a row sometimes and end it by throwing his triple shot at you out of nowhere after you just wasted your stamina dodging everything

Boss AI is RNG and just decide they wanna do 1 or 2 attacks or do all of their attacks in a row

Yeah, I was ready for some Manus style kino but that item is a trap.
Might as well treat ignore and treat it like an RNG dps race to avoid "that one move that kills you" just like so many other bosses.

I thought the light ray blast was a followup to his deflecting hand counter.
Even then the damage is so low and it doesn't seem to stagger so it's just an annoyance to keep you on your toes.

Hate how boss designs have progressed. Every boss now has infinite attack chains and infinite aggression, you're eking out 1-second windows to whack them once before they attack you again. And don't forget the delayed attacks. It's fucking tedious

>They kneecap Radahn into the dirt and even nerfed Fallingstar Beast slightly for no fucking reason
>Didnt change Malenia OR Radagon at ALL

They were probably planning on giving players cool shit to compensate before they decided to copy and paste DS3 because new animations are tooo hard.

Just respec to magic and kill them in 5 seconds

moonveil + mimic gank and you get to the 2nd phase instantly

This game was designed arround booodhound step

Actually, im sure they tested the game with other parameters, remember the network test? Everyone laughing abiut the stupidly massive ammount of iframes jumping gave? They probably designed the game and tested bosses with that in mind, then deleted it last moment and left the bosses as they were

That's what you get when you put a Phase 2 on every fucking boss.
Phase 2 transitioning also fucking sucks, in other Soulsgames, you only watch a phase 2 cutscene once. Afterwards the phase 2 starts during gameplay.

Phase 1 was so boring because it has literally the same toolset the other bosses have.
Phase 2 just destroys everything but his attacks are actually easy to dodge, he only has like 3 different patterns

They want people to like the Radahn fight because they put the most work into it.

I didn't feel that way for the other phase 2s, it was just Elden Beast that made me want to pull my hair out. Trying to parry Maliketh's stuff was also an annoying learning process since the beams he shoots obscure his movements so I just said fuck it and did the fight without the item. If anything, Malenia, Nial, etc had really enjoyable phase 2 portions.

I just fought Fire Giant and I wish every boss was that good. I would actually say besides Rennala its the only boss I wouldn't mind fighting again on another playthrough. Felt fair, it wasn't overly aggressive and autistic; didn't force me to roll for my life at all times or not blink. I love that fight. Great spectacle, fair encounter.

The network test also had STR tie into endurance and they fucking got rid of it in the final game as if STR wasnt already getting shit on by miyazaki

I did Fire Giant 1st try and i still dont think hes that great of a fight but i guess i would rather fight him again than Malenia

Astel and Ancestral Spirit are the kind of bosses the game needs more of. They might actually be TOO fair with how long it takes for them to attack.

Astel would be fair if it didn't have the teleport behind you grab.

The teleport grab is pretty heavily telegraphed, the moment you see he teleports somewhere you should be spinning the camera to see where that place is

The only change with Radahn i agree with is toning down his bullshit meteors attack in phase 2

They nerfed him to death just because Caelid is a high level area and people dont realize that or they wanna finish Ranni's quest

It's telegraphed, but the range can still be pretty annoying. By the time you see the teleport you might still be too late to react.

Astel is just too big, which is ironic after I praised Fire Giant. But Astel is a boss you shouldn't camera lock but also doesn't really work when you're not locked. All you can see is his head for a second and then his bubbly underbody. The fire giant is always in view due to him being on his knees in the second phase and it just feels better designed as a fuckhuge boss type. I had zero fun fighting Astel, but I am a pure melee build using a broadsword two handed and no shield

But you could survive all of Radahn's attacks except for meteors (phase 2 transition and the tracking ones) with only 30vig

Youre not gonna like Elden Beast then cause its just Fire Giant but worse and no horse to get back into the fight quicker

I didn't use the horse at all on giant, but yes I'll probably hate Elden Beast because I've hated most bosses in this game.

What if I want to use a weapon besides moonveil and a summon besides mimic?
>oh that's right you can't

And yet they still reduced Radahn's melee damage, reduced his weapon hitboxes, nerfed his meteors, some of the gravity attack hitboxes AND hes more braindead now

But all the other bullshit attacks or bosses in the game? Perfectly fine to keep as is according to FromSoft.

Attached: 1627859573113.jpg (1280x720, 522.28K)

first astel is bullshit, but doable
second astel in the Yelough Anix mine is complete fucking cancer

Caelid is often the 3rd area people go to because "well theres a giant cliff and then capital city, ill just wait and do this other zone I found 10 hours ago" and, while challenging, is surmountable at that level.
Radhan's attacks are not at all in line with this progression, or a majority of the zone itself, especially when it locks literally easier content in the underground portions behind it.
He needed nerfed. Not as much as they did because now he's a joke, but he definitely needed it.
And yes I already beat him before the patch, it was just tedious and boring to randomly die to his meteors if the rng tracking targeted me and I couldn't get behind the huge hill in time.

I had more trouble with the Fire Giant than any other boss, including Malenia. I fucking hate that boss.

>in other Soulsgames, you only watch a phase 2 cutscene once

Every boss that has a phase 2 cutscene plays out the scene every time you fight the boss, you can always skip it though. Off the top of my head at least Ludwig always plays the moonlight greatsword cutscene, Genichiro always has the cutscene when he becomes lighting of Tomoe, Isshin cutscene popping out of Genichiro, Ornstein and Smough absorbing the other, etc. etc.

Fromsoft also thought it was okay to nerf mimic tear and hoarfrost into dust - aka the only cheeses available to melee builds that aren't katana bleed spam - and then have the audacity to buff magic and dex

Im not gonna be surprised when they finally nerf more spirits for no reason even though the MP requirement to summon ones like Tiche is gigantic

Yeah except those were good changes because they were literally broken. Hoarfrost is used by lvl 1 speed runners to cheese the entire fucking game and mimic pre-nerf could solo bosses and take no damage. Having them in the game literally went against the entire ethos of the game's design. Cope & seethe shitter.

>its okay when I do it, but not when STRfags do it
