Save game
Are you sure you want to lose the 1.5 seconds between when you saved and when you quit? Better save again user!
Guess I'll just leave the game running overnight.
>Are you sure you want to overwrite save file? Previous save data will be lost.
>game saved successfully
>continue?
>[NO] [yes]
Number one reason why I developed a crippling anxiety.
>save game
>press quit
>game quits to menu
>loads menu
>press quit
>are you sure you want to quit?
>try to exit
>''are you sure?''
>'yes' and 'no', pop up, being on 'no' by default
>quit FromSoftware game
>returns to title screen
>logs back into server
this is why I bound WIN + DEL to just end the current process. Fuck modern games and their slow loading screens for everything, even the main menu. Huge quality of life improvement.
Isn't that what ALT + F4 does?
>unsaved progress will be lost. are you sure?
>yes
>autosaving...
>force close the game
>save corrupted, oops
>proceed to cry on steam forums or wherever about your save being corrupted
No. Alt-F4 just sends a normal close signal, like pressing the X button in the corner of the window. Some games intercept that and open a menu instead of closing. Ending the process will always kill the game instantly, no exceptions. Sometimes it's actually necessary because of how awful windows is with fullscreen games, which can lead to being unable to access the CTRL-ALT-DEL menu or navigate the task manager.
obviously only in games with manual saves, or where saving is irrelevant/server based like multiplayer shit.
>Sequel has different party members than the original game
>Except the guy people used the least
Jake Hager looks like he just ended up in the wrong place and is doing his best to blend in whilst still extremely confused.
>Some games intercept that
Should be FUCKING illegal.
I always just alt+f4 as soon as I get to the title screen.
That's what CTRL+SHIFT+ESC is for.
I know earthbound does this, any other games?
During the first proper JAS promo they kept cutting to close shots of him looking completely wall-eyed, only showing any semblance of life when Jericho handed him the mic. Dude must be smoking up good now that he's done training for MMA again.
the first time i played world of warcraft in like 2005 i remember making it to goldshire and wanting to be done for the day. i asked a few people in town how i save....
might not have been goldshire maybe northshire
again, if a fullscreen game shits itself from a botched alt-tab, sometimes you are left unable to see any other windows through the black screen. Sure you could in principle try to blindly navigate the task manager's ever shifting entries with the arrow keys until you kill the offending game. But that's why I use the end process macro, it's simple and direct.
