Were other people disappointed with phase 2 of this boss ?
Let's talk about it.
I think the package is fantastic, the presentation is amazing, the character design is great, the voice acting is great, the ost, The Phase 1 moveset is one of the most fun movesets designed by FS, but phase 2 sucks. What did he mean by that ?
Its moveset is impoverished, and consists mainly of grab attacks.
He looks like Gascoigne, but Gascoigne was much scarier and not an end game boss.
these retards reused two bloodborne cutscenes in that >closeup of face with breath showing - gascoigne >blood splatter on shadow on ground - amelia this is as soulless as you can get
Jordan Harris
They reused "you were at my side all along" twice. For Rickard and Marik
Blake Johnson
Nah phase 2 was great, it felt like I was in Street Fighter. Great change of pace, that was refreshing as fuck after being dragged through all the rehashed garbage for 150 hours.
I agree that it is refreshing, but why isn't it wilder ?
My main disappointment is that it doesn't reach the greatness of the first phase . These grabs are boring.
Blake Jackson
I agree it might have been a bit too easy but the concept was solid. He even did leg sweeps and all.
Levi Miller
phase 2 only sucks because they pre-emptively nerfed the grab hitboxes to be more "fair" notice how theres no webms of shitters mistiming rolls and getting "teleported" into his grab like with other grabs in the series
Nolan Perry
I thought he was awesome Gascoigne was never that cool what the fuck lmao
Jacob Bailey
He was the only boss in a late game I was able to beat 2nd try on my pure STR character. But hell.. shit was KINO and prolly my favorite boss fight in ER. Wish he was more like Conan with that hair style in 2nd phase.. should've been just long hair cimmerian style
Isaiah Lewis
His voice sucked.
Jordan Gutierrez
It's amazing how you guys defend that bs, the disconnect between what's happening on the screen and what's really happening behind the curtain is exactly why people hate adp and why shooting in new vegas is garbage, by all means at least ask them to make his grab animation actually catch the player if you don't want a nerf
Robert Walker
I think the second phase is better than the first. Actually I found the first phase boring. Nothing wrong with it but it was just really generic.
Jaxon Walker
>the disconnect between what's happening on the screen and what's really happening like when you press the roll button and clip through big weapons, lasers, and explosions to take no damage
Luke Morgan
> gigachads are straight forward and simple same with movesets
Liam Davis
I think phase 1 plays better but enjoy the idea of the 2nd more. Its not nearly as good though. His stance seems like shit and "warrior!" but basically fighting like a beast is also shit. It would be neat if his 2nd phase involved more structured martial arts based attacks. But its just gay power bombs stomping and flailing flurries. Only retards think even aggressive beast like fighting actually involves just flailing at someone.
Christian Wright
lion was his spirit animal that he channeled all his warrior fury into. he released the power when he killed the lion
Liam Foster
Do you remember when everyone thought this game was in development hell or even cancelled?
Who gives a fuck about realism? The issue with bad hitboxes isn't that grabs don't work like that in real life. It's that it hurts the gameplay.
Jonathan Edwards
dude, there was no info for like 3 years
David Baker
I reckon it really was in a spot of trouble during that time after all.
Joshua Lee
the second phase should have been a true kino gang squad like all the other gank squads in elden ring >uoohhhhhh my lion,,,, now i need to unleash the beast *blood splatter* >ghost lion is now walking around and you must fight that and Godfrey/Hoarah Loux at the same time it doesn't feel right only fighting one enemy in a Souls game anymore. for me, it must be a multi-phase gang squad boss fight
Sebastian Jenkins
>Oh Godfrey, they said his name in the opening. But why is he here? Wasn't he exiled? Why does he want to fight me? Come to think of it why did I just fight Gideon? Why did he change his name midfight?
My thoughts on it. Cool game.
Gabriel Moore
The symbolism of this phase 2 is a good idea, but the execution could have been better
John Moore
The whole game was filled with unfinished and half-baked ideas. Just like every From game. Except they tacked on open world this time so a lot of the flaws became even more glaring.
