I had this same magazine as a kid. That guide is based on a beta version they got for review and is completely different from the final game. They apologized for it in the next issue. It's neat though because it references Trevor's files in a few places and mentions the bloody message on the east 2F staircase.

What's with all the threads about re being hard today? We all beat it when we were 13 year old. It's a 5 hours game with auto aim and babby puzzles and zoomers are getting filtered by it.

What exactly was too hard about it? The first few RE games have a novel sort of logic that's surprisingly intuitive. Even something like the chemical plant puzzle seems obtuse out of context but as soon as you reach each half of that puzzle it should click in most people's heads to at least TRY it pretty much immediately.
