When I played the game, the default name it game her was "Aeris"

Aeris will always make more sense ontologically even if the Aerith is supposed to be some meme "Earth" symbolism.

I played through the entire game in Japanese and it sounded like they said Aeris every single time, Aerith is the technically correct translation for English but they don't even phonetically say it in Japanese so I won't either
