>nooo you can't just auto dodge my spells!
>haha magic tears are the best. Right simba?

>even bethesda would be laughed at for?
This would also get applauded and get a "oh bethesda!" because Todd conditioned the entire market to accept their slop

Bethesda wouldn't know how to even program it

Bethesda games actually do have janky hardcoded psychic-level arrow dodging, from Morrowind through Skyrim.

No one liked arrow dodge in Skyrim. What are you talking about?

Just use glintblade lol

cope tranny snoy tendie

Make it so enemies have only a 50% chance to input read an action and the combat would be so much better.
Getting input read 100% of the time just feels like you're fighting a robot.

There was arrow dodge? Never used the things, I'll tell you for certain there wasn't double fireball dodge

...you are. How long can you pretend you aren't just pressing buttons for a machine to respond to? Input reading has been a thing since mortal kombat.

I really don't get this "input reading" meme.
Is this the new deranged discord tranny spam?
In case it isn't, please explain why is """input reading""" a problem? The enemy sees a magic missle coming his way, he attempts to dodge if he's idle and on guard. That's what makes what you would call "smart, responsive enemy AI" in every other game.
Would you prefer all enemy AIs to be just a loop of doing a random attack according to the distance between you then idle for a second and repeat?

Where is that?

This webm is hilarious on so many levels

Because fromdrones are literally demented.

Where did he get the mace and the flask?

now i know what i'm doing to this guy lol

>last boss i beat was just me sitting at a certain distance baiting an attack so i can do 1 jump attack
ah yes, victory, can i please just be done with this game now

Haha, you're right, we shouldn't bother programming AI at all, let them just use their instant reaction times and other things that a computer can do like auto aim and other things. Fuck balancing it, just let the player eat shit as soon as line of sight happens, you know what fuck that, as soon as the character spawns they know and are on their way slap your ass if they haven't already because they don't need to worry about walls.

The absolute state

>The enemy sees a magic missle coming his way, he attempts to dodge if he's idle and on guard
Except that it doesn't. It reacts to your button presses. It's like you've got strings to the AI's limbs in your hand. Every time you cast a delayed attack spell, the enemies instantly dodge like absolute retards and then do nothing when the actual projectile is coming their way.

It makes a mockery of the whole aura the series has built around it. The whole git gud thing is a load of shit when instead of reacting to whatever you are attempting to do at the time it has a hard coded response instead.

Give 1 (one) example of a well-programmed 3d boss AI

>programming AI
You mean like making it avoid damage or attempt to prevent you from healing?

Nice organic thread here
Are you basement warriors being paid by publishers or just doing it for free?

FEAR had pretty good AI. The enemies took cover, coordinated their attacks and tried to surround you.

The enemy DOESN'T see a magic missile coming his way. Because there is no such missile, there's just a missile briefly moving in a totally different direction directly into a wall. It is possible to make an enemy whose state machine cares about whether or not a magic missile is coming his way, but that's not what they've done. The enemies are not reacting to the position or direction of the projectile, they're reacting to the animation state of the player character. Input Reading.

Caelid on a bridge.

Shouldn't it be "Enemy fell"?

>"input reading" meme
>describes a situation where an enemy would react to a projectile instead of reading inputs
why are you asking for an explanation when you apparently already figured it out? and why are you so worried about "discord trannies"?
