why do people dislike it?
Yes.
the game both relies on you to recognize patterns for the enemies but then also has random shit where enemies are offscreen and do random shit. I dont understand. I played the first one and I didnt remember it the same way. still a pretty good game though
I've always loved this game, HM1 is absolutely fantastic too.
>trying to get A+ on hard mode Blood Money
>A+
Max rank in HM2 is S user :^)
Shit level design, too much emphasis on story. 1 was better.
"muh guns and windows" or something
they want the entire game to be full of small safe baby rooms with 2 stationary bald dudes in them
>make original game that ramps in difficulty
>make sequel that directly continues from that difficulty ramp
>soiboys cry and screech because they wanted le epic silent Drive power fantasy instead of new mechanics and expanded levels
>have meltdown because the expanded lore contradicts their faggy head-canon
>screech about the ending because everyone dies, making it "pointless" because they've never encountered a story with arcs and themes in their lives
I played and 100% both games on release. I have a top 10 fastest time for a level in hm2. I can say hm2 is faster and more fun, but hm1 will always hold a special place in my heart
I think unlike HM1 which only had one bad level, HM2 has about 5 or 6, which isn't a bad number really but it does drag 1/5 to 1/4 of the game a lot.
Everything else though was better than HM1.
good no one gives a shit speedrunner tranny.
HL2 is "fun" once you know all the places where enemies can snipe you from.
My main gripe with it is only connected to the gameplay and has nothing to do with the narrative; I simply enjoyed kicking down the doors to enclosed rooms way more than walking around open areas.
I felt way more of a thrill having to quickly dispose of a bunch of guards in a small space than sniping people back and forth. The game is still great though
Which HM1 level was considered the bad one? Just replayed recently and nothing stuck out to me as bad. better not be assault
>make sequel that directly continues from that difficulty ramp
What are you talking about? Youre making shit up. Even in their most recent interview dennaton admits it was just a style choice. They just wanted to try out the more gun focused design.
I never hated HM2 i prefered its more heavy narrative focus. Just dont like all the shooting simple as.
nevermind, forgot about clean hit
HM2 was kino but some parts were trash
>first floor of Jake first mission
>entirety of Sons heist level
>third screen of Casualties on hard
Also Execution best level/music in base game
and Deviation from Wild Thing best custom song/level
>dude offscreen deaths lmao
>just memorize every level's layout like a little bitch bro
>dude remember how people liked to pick their playstyle by choosing their own masks? yeah let's throw that shit out of window and force them play our way also what if we made huge areas focused on gunplay instead of the visceral melee close quarter encounters everyone loved?
oh right but it's """deep""" because of anti-nationalism story, fuck off only played the games for looks and music
Hospital
sorry, best level and music goes for Release.
oh yeah, kind of unfair to consider it a level when you can't even get a rank on it desu
