i very much enjoy melee as a casual, and prefer it over the other games as a way for people to play a party game. newer games are really gay and have a bunch of anime looking characters. my mom doesn't know who tf sora is. she knows pikachu and mario.

Almost nobody plays SF2, it's fucking dogshit. KoF 98 or Marvel 2 maybe deserve that spot, although there's simply no retro fighting games that're as alive and healthy as Melee. I suspect Marvel 3 might be if it was easy to play online as Melee is.
