But it was Sonic Battle that confirmed Gerald Robotnik got the idea for Shadow when he saw that ancient mural of Super Sonic fighting Eggman

Shadow's run was actually kind of annoying to use in Battle, because his traction is ass. You can't turn on a dime with Shadow, you'll just keep sliding in your first direction for a bit. Not that Battle is particularly hard but it can be a pain.

These trailers were such a fever dream when they originally released that nobody fucking believed they were real at the time. I mean look at the original one, it really seemed like some faggot just threw it together in Window's Movie Maker and did a really quick, cheap mod of Sonic Heroes.
