Nah, I don’t think so. NEO felt like it came from a place of love for the original TWEWY and did it’s own thing while giving new characters to care about and new mechanics to explore. I can’t say the same for the FLCL sequels.

the original flcl came out in 2000 and has a generally good reputation

the sequels came out a few years ago and do not have so good a reputation

so i guess we are probably sort of mixed on how we think the new sequel will do
