Ranni's questline is the easiest and hardest-to-miss in the game so it's hardly surprising that most people would finish it. You can meet Ranni way at the start of the game, there are several other questlines that lead you to her (Rogier and Blaidd), and it's one of the few quests that let you skip/fuck up several steps and still get to the end.

Anyone claiming you need a guide to finish Ranni's quest is an absolute mong. Every part of her quest is tied to one of the most iconic areas in the game, and it's pretty much entirely linear. The only way I can see someone not being able to do it is if they didn't explore.

The only part I took a bunch of time was the "Find the treasuse at the eternal city" bit.
At the branching paths after the Mimic Tear I ended up going the wrong way and fighting the Regal Spirit, then after getting no treasure from it I started backtracking until I finally found the continuation of the eternal city.
