NIoh 2 = Good game design, it is fun as fuck to use all your tools and there are many challenges that makes using everything a fun and rewarding experience
Elden ring = Bad game design, the lack of real gameplay makes the game shallow and in order to feel something you need to ignore gameplay mechanics
Elden Ring feels like it bullies you into using its features, because the features themselves aren't fun so you have no intrinsic reason to use them unless the game is too difficult to get through without them

Honestly when someone ask for tips about a nioh boss and some anons say to just use onmyo shit regardless of their build, i don't think these anons played the game at the same level as players who used only the weapons
Spamming shit from a distance is not learning the bosses, in ER you have the excuse of the combat being shit anyway, but Nioh's system is very fun without talismans etc
