AA2 is complete shite though. Shit animations, shit chara maker, shit school events

It got a spiritual sequel that focused on the content the bulk of the player base enjoyed. The few autists wanted to keep running around the school map to repeat the same 20 interactions were the minority, and not even the Japanese side of the player base (who bought the game) lasted as long as the weirdos in the dead /vg/ threads here.

AA2 was acceptable at the time of it's release and about 2-3 years after. Every year after that it became more dated and not worth playing.

won't get a GOOD sequel you mean. If they actually made a sequel with updated graphics and enhanced/expanded upon features from AA2 they would have made a golden goose, which would stop them from making more money off newer shit releases they pump out every year or so.

>It's been 8 years since the Summer of AA2

>spiritual sequel
Koikatsu?
It's nothing like AA2. Koikatsu has the character creation and that's it. Everything else was garbage

The golden goose was HS showing that people from all regions really enjoy the poser and studio system, more than some western retards that stuck to AA2 long past it's expiration that. Honestly, can you imagine telling Illusion or their Japanese player base that AA2 would make them tons of cash by dropping the thing their CUSTOMERS actually pay for, because the opinions of some spergs who continued playing their pirated version of AA2 know better? HS, HS2, and Koikatsu have made them plenty of cash. They went back to the normal story focused kind of game in PH and it showed that the people who actually paid for their games don't care as much for it. People would rather interact with the studio poser for 5 years in HS/KK than repeat the same NPC interactions in AA2.

Again, a handful of guys trying to FORCE a dead as hell /vg/ thread to stay alive don't have a worthy opinion in this.

>It got a spiritual sequel
Where?! I need it now!!!1!

You didn't play KK, huh? KK literally has every feature AA2 did and then some. The ONLY feature it does not have are the ability to make male characters in the map (why would you?), and have NPC's interact with other NPC's. You can still roam the map, interact with girls, date girls, go through their STORY MODES, date teachers, level up stats, etc.

Why is it that AA2 fags always speak out of ignorance?

Rapelay 4 when

KK gameplay is barebones
All the fun is at Studio making your own scenes

AA1 and AG3 are better and have not been surpassed.

>It's nothing like AA2. Koikatsu has the character creation and that's it.
There's a reason why fans of Rapelay, Honey Select, Sexy Beach Premium Resort, Premium Play Darkness, Custom Maid, and any other 3D game fans universally despise AA2fags. You guys are always so obnoxious, and you talk out of your ass so much.

>KK gameplay is barebones
Once again, it literally has every gameplay feature AA2 had, except for male NPC's and NPC's interacting with other NPC's, with was just pointless RNG fluff anyway. There was no meaningful things that came from AA2's NPC's interacting with each other. Koikatsu has them interact with each other as well, but there are no invisible stats between NPC and NPC interactions.

You do realize that Illusions first games weren't that anime styled either, right? Do you think they started with AA2?

>There was no meaningful things that came from AA2's NPC's interacting with each other
bro, students could kill other students if they hate them enough and have the right trait.
>invisible
never checked the statue behind the dojo eh?

>The ONLY feature it does not have are the ability to make male characters in the map (why would you?), and have NPC's interact with other NPC's
These were the fun features. Not interested without NPC shenanigans. Girls killing each other over your dick, gossiping to make someone hated by eveyone, the risk of getting NTR'd by the local gigachad student, the list goes on

Eh I'd disagree.
The "fun" from AA2's AI interactions was the progression and how it can quickly go to hell after relationships start forming up

KK interactions are basically NPCs talking to eachother and nothing changes unless the PC is involved

>poser and studio system
Dude, RPG maker is cool and all but it's not actuall video game. AA on other hand is.

>bro, students could kill other students if they hate them enough and have the right trait.
Wasn't that the ONLY one though? They couldn't get other students pregnant or anything like that. It was all just RNG anyway. Their traits didn't dictate who they talked to and stuff like that, they just ran in random pathways and sometimes talked to the nearest person, or directly ran after you to talk with. The reason why it was dropped was because the feature wasn't really doing anything. Could they have improved it and added it back to Koikatsu? Sure, but as we've discussed, the player base has proved that they don't care about that feature much. Some dudes in the AA2 thread on /vg/ aren't even reflective of their minority fanbase in Japan. For some reason, there only exists an extremely dedicated fanbase here, and that's about it. Everyone moved on to making their own stories in studio.

>The "fun" from AA2's AI interactions was the progression and how it can quickly go to hell after relationships start forming up
Yes, and it quickly went to hell because it was all mostly random.
>KK interactions are basically NPCs talking to eachother and nothing changes unless the PC is involved
You're correct, but the game actually has a dedicated story for a couple of girls you can edit, as well as being able to still date other students. Illusion realized that the players don't care for this that much, which is why they keep repeating the Studio focus in their future games. The studio is what sells, not the NPC to NPC interactions that random pirates on /vg/ care about.

AA2 has always been shallow shit.
>h-animations are picked from a menu
>no proper 3d environments
>no seamless interaction with charcters
>nothing actually matters since the AI is fucking retarded and runs through RNG scripts
>buddha always lies

I have played it the weeks after release and was dissapointed by how much of a step back pretty much everything was ciompared to older titles.

>Dude, RPG maker is cool and all-
What...? What kind of argument are you even trying to make? The fact remains that Illusion's popularity blew up massively with the apex of their Studio re-release. Everyone wanted to play it, even professional hentai artists were remaking their characters in HS and re-creating hentai/doujin scenes they made in it. It was that big. It doesn't matter what you consider a game, because Studio is what sells and keeps fans in. If it didn't, they'd have brought back that AA2 NPCxNPC feature a long time ago in a Koikatsu DLC.

>$88
the japanese are fucking retarded.

It's why everyone that isn't still a fan of AA2 hates AA2 fans. They glorify it to the point where they make it sound like it's so feature intensive and complicated. What's worse is that most of them outright refuse to even TRY other games, so when they shit on games like Koikatsu, most of them do it before even playing them. This is why every thread like this tends to have them listing features the game doesn't have that it does. You don't see fans of other Illusion games going at it with Custom Maid fans like this.

This whole situation can be compared to WoWfags reacting to FFXIV's popularity. They're so unhappy and insecure with their own game that they can't stand another one becoming popular and apparently doing things people actually want, so they need to force comparisons and hate on it, while simultaneously refusing to even try it. In fact, AA2fags are literally just WoWfaggots for the porn community.

it's yen not dollar fucking retard

don't do that

Where is that price even listed? You cannot buy AA2 digitally, nor can you buy it physically outside of Japan, unless you're paying for it on a third party market website with an inflated price.

Isnt AA2 kept alive and was salvaged into something workable on modern oses through autistic anons? Or am i just misinformed here.

which website is that? Looks like an old screenshot.

yes, it has been compressed down to ~10 gbs or so from it's horrendous original size, plus it has more features and doesn't require locale changes or the like. pop over to /aa2g/ and check it out if you're actually curious about it.
