An XCOM kind of game where half of it is actually fighting the angels in tokyo-3 or the geofront and the other half is downtime to prepare for the next angel fight. Stuff like dealing with the UN and SEELE to get more funding, giving money to ritsuko to develop stuff like the dummy plug system or repair damages to the evas, or managing the pilots to make sure they stay sane. The last mission would be fighting the nine mass produced evas with whatever you have left after the last seventeen angels.

3D brawler/action in the style of Destroy All Monsters. Has a competitive multiplayer, and a singleplayer campaign with slice of life segments between missions or fights.
The story doesn't follow the original plot- instead it ignores Third Impact and EoE entirely. It's post time-skip and focuses on an older (25-30)yo Rei and Asuka who have to return to Nerv to defend against a new wave of Angels attacking Japan, but they're both adult professionals now and have to get back into the swing of things and learn to get over each other to fight the angels.
Also nowadays instead of piloting Eva's, Rei & Asuka gain the power to grow to Eva size and have to fight the angels like that (Shinji still uses the Eva). Also they're both plumper/more full figured and their suits rip when they fight.
