I have a feeling to stick with the original, plus I played DMC1 on emulator so I didn’t want to run around with the PC version. I heard the HD release nerfed the difficulty so I skipped on it.

The original port is the only version of the game I played so I have no frame of reference, but I don't remember having any real issues other than having to configure the controls. I'm with you on the HD version though.

DmC Devil May Cry is an entirely different continuity than the numbered series. There is no reason to play it unless you want to play a bad DMC game, but even then you have DMC2 which is also bad.
