Sonic used to have a new game made every year or so.
But that led to a bunch of really shit or mediocre games.
So know they chose to actually work on one game for a long time.
Plus Frontiers will likely be a cross generation thing, so that makes it take a bit longer.
He has had movies though.
The character you posted retired in the 90s
Sonic ended with SA1
That's a boomer opinion. Objectively the series died with shadow the hedgehog
It hasn't felt that way to me since I got an Xbox, I was playing a bunch of Unleashed and Generations. But now that you mention it, it is a bit weird that we haven't seen an actual new Sonic game in so long.
3D will never EVER work.
You mean SA2 right?
Sonic was never good.
Nothing was ever good.
LE EVERYTHING IS LE SHIT XD
Can I please join the Any Forums Kool Kidz Klub now?
>So know they chose to actually work on one game for a long time.
And it will still be real shitty or mediocre
>I pretend that bad games are good to feel superior to anonymous posters
No you don't get in, go hang out with the DMC2 poster.
Forces came four whole years after Lost World (At the time the longest wait between mainline games since 3&K to Adventure) and was still shit. We have every reason to be unhappy that not only are we waiting much longer between titles, we're getting lower quality titles too. I legitimately think that Frontiers is Sonic's last chance as an actual video game character. If they fuck this up? Movies, shows and mobile games until the end of time.
Sonic has the same problem Halo and Pokemon do.
The developers are just incompetent, there is no other excuse.
Well that's a pessimistic attitude.
It isn't even out, why assume the worst?
I think most of Force's development was spent in creating the concept and not actual dev time.
Which is part of the reason why it is so short and rough
>I legitimately think that Frontiers is Sonic's last chance as an actual video game character.
This has been said so many times. Truth is I think any truly good game would get him back on the radar no matter how many years we got shit game after shit game. Sonic games have a pretty good record of selling well, with the exception of Lost World/Sonic Boom but that was more due to the failure of the Wii U and Sonic Boom being irredeemable schlock. I hear you though, if we were waiting this long for something good it'd be worth it. But waiting for long periods of time for dogshit is a raw deal.
Sonic has always been shit, it's just his older games were more dirt then shit
Get out your Mega Drive dev kit and start coding some new Sonic game.
Sonic used to have two mediocre games a year, now it has two mediocre games a decade. The time between releases has changed, the quality has not.
Honestly they should make classic into a sub series to fill in the gaps and maybe revive spin-offs like riders
100% this. After Shadow the Hedgehog this serious was done.
>B-b-b-booooost Sonic
It should have been a spinoff only thing. Unleashed was only praised so much because it wasn't 06. They could have put out Lost World after 06 and people would have held it to the same regard as they do Unleashed and Boost Sonic now.
>1991 : 1
>1992 : 2
