Hey bro I heard you like autistic micromanaging and completely unrealistic depictions of human behaviour
>autistic micromanaging
I would love a game like that. Know any that are not dorf fortress? I played a bunch of rimworld and all i do is set up priorities once and then just let them fuck off, doesn't really scratch my autismo itch.
>completely unrealistic depictions of human behaviour
Nah, that one Rimworld nailed right
OH MY GOD THE ROOM I JUST TORCHED IS HECKING UGLY I AM ABOUT TO FRICKING BREAK AGAIN SAME ME DRUGS
i honestly got filtered by this game. I dont understand the genre of games that require you to learn an entire UI like it's photoshop or blender just to do really basic tasks. Granted I played this game when it came out when it was fresh so they might have updated the UI or controls or something but it felt really barebones in terms of what you could do vs how fucking complicated to get there it was. I even understand the game concepts like assigning workers to roles, learning skills, etc. I just fucking hate how tedious it is to actively search out how to make an area a "garbage dump" or whatever the fuck simple tasks that most games I've played handled better
>gameplay mechanics demand system mastery and careful planning dragged out over hours of development
>Tynan's """story generator""" mechanics mean you can be trapped in a no-win situation whenever the computer rolls it
One thing I hate about this game, though it's not a shallow game in general: how poor the faction-to-faction play is. There is no sense of building your own faction which is similar to the rest.
What the next big expansion needs is an overgame where you loosely manage the growth of your faction. Not micro for each settlement, but just seed out the same kind of RNG settlements the other factions have, and you manage it from the 1-3 major settlements of yours.
There used to be a mod that would adjust faction territory to be more consolidated, and expand the sheer number of factions. But the latest updates killed it.
That, and adding to nomadic styles of play would be neat.
some cunt raiders armed with clubs dropped directly into my lab and smashed the fucking high tech research bench and multi analyser
I really wish raiders were more than just drones that sacrifice their lives to cause property damage
low level equilibrium trap: the game
>rimworld
>micromanage
i fucking love that game but i wont lie, it's literally just "run it in the background while watching a movie" tier.
if i want to micromanage i play ONI or Dwarf Fort or something
>everyone wakes up
>freezer full of meat
>clean kitchen right next to it
>hmm will i cook for 2 minutes before eating or will i eat this steak raw
>REEE I ATE UNCOOKED FOOD
>*breaks a nuclear reactor or some shit*
>hmm will i cook for 2 minutes before eating or will i eat this steak raw
see every pawn's diet is set to "Lavish" by default
I just rename that diet it to "Default" and disallow raw food, kibble, and corpses. Now every Pawn eats like a sane person by default
If there's a lot to do, then there will be a lot to learn.
It takes some time but even the learning process can be fun. Next thing you know you'll be installing mods with even more stuff to learn so your pawns can poop and shower.
>completely unrealistic
What, you've never seen someone snap into a homicidal rage after needing to eat without a table?
steamcommunity.com
and
steamcommunity.com
combine into a nice empire building segment of the game
>get raided by mechs when nobody has anything more advanced than a crossbow
do not build statues they increase your wealth stupidly fast
the game punishes you for wanting to be a trader
filtered by menus
>he doesn't wake up suddenly at night and head outside for a bit of psychotic wandering
well look at the city slicker who gets to eat a table.
>wake up
>feeling really bummed since it's so hot out
>navigate the maze of traps and doors meant to keep out bloodthirsty animals and raiders
>oh, there's a large wolf twenty feet away
>punch it because I'm so bummed out
>it fucking eats me
HAHAHAHA WOOOOOW I WASN'T EVEN DOING ANYTHING
Factorio. Satisfactory to a lesser extent.
actually, i just like forcing my female colonists to take their clothes off
