Mine was empty except for two lions and a random slime yet there were a bunch of soldiers fighting the dog monsters near the first guardhouse across the bridge. Also none of the doors in the castle worked. I didn’t even get a “does not open from this side” message. It was strange. Is it supposed to be different?

You can revert it to how it was before the festival by talking to the NPC in the church. I got fucked hard by the festival because the castle was the place I went to get a few quick and easy souls.

The castle is literally not doable at that part with Misbegotten+Knight double pack. The game WANTS ou to start the Ranni quest which means you literally need to talk to Blaidd and kill his target before going to the castle. Misbegotten and Crucible Knight are harder than Radhan. No way its intended for you to do the castle before Radhan.
