I just felt really fucking bad for the dude's mother towards the end. I get what she did was insanely fucking stupid but that's kinda the point. Desperate people will do dumb things to try and make things better. If anything it's also pretty frightening that cults can exert that kind of control over people's lives too and just how frightingly adept some people are at taking advantage of the weaknesses of others. It's really the constant theme of manipulation that gets to me throughout the VN.

Same, I'm a retard but I guess what I took away is the world is full of terrible people who will try to take advantage of you but there's still joy to be had in it. Almost everyone in it is a victim of circumstances which sucks, especially Tomosane, Zakuro, Yuki, and Hasaki.

Down the Rabbit Hole 1 is such a trip on a reread. There are so many things you'll pick up on that completely go over your head on the first read. Even the opening scene on the rooftop here in pic related has like 5 things off in the short scene that you can pick up on that hint at things that get revealed later.

IIRC in the normal route when she saw that Mamiya isn't really the knight in shining armor as she expected she went deeper into her delusions, while in alternate ending with "mon panache" she used her love for books to do a really dumb, but still admirable thing that ultimately helped her out. So it's the epitome of the "using fictions for escapism vs using them to inspire and help you in real life" theme that is literally everywhere in subahibi.

When I found out Yuki was one of Tomosane's personalities I expected a scene of him fucking the rabbit doll or his sister again since I did every route in the first chapter. I really like this VN and nothing has been like it since so yeah I'll give it another go I think

I only just finished reading it last month. Not sure what to take away from the ending honestly. Like I understand what the ending is supposed to be but I can't help but to feel like it's still kind of a 'fuck you' to everyone, it almost borders on 'it was just a dream' nonsense. I don't feel sour over it, just befuddled more than anything else. Ayana still best gal though.
