Bump
Yeah that was such a buzzkill.
>Get to the first boss of the game
>Wow this game must be really long, HR had quite a few!
>Credits roll
>Plot completely unresolved

Little did he know I had hoarded two dozen grenades for this moment.
I was doing a pacifist run and didn't realize I could just spam gas grenades
Underrated game
MD wasn't meant to be the final entry of Jensen's series. It's a fun game anyway, even if the plot isn't about saving the world.
Why are there no new Desu ex games btw? Low sales?
>Low sales?
Squeenix declares any game that doesn't outsell GTA V a failure and cancels the series unless it is final fantasy.
I accidentally found his killswitch. Stopped for a moment to think if this was a scripted event or not.
Was this meant to be a reference to the killswitch you find in the original Deus Ex?
>Why are there no new Desu ex games btw
Square demanded that MD get cut in half so they could sell the second half as another game. After MD didn't sell well because everybody complained it was cut in half, Square decided to cancel selling the second half at all and put the devs on making capeshit games.
>MD didn't sell well because everybody complained it was cut in half
There were more reasons than that
Not only do these types of games traditionally sell like shit but there was the pre-order fiasco which turned many people away from the game
I thought I was at the final mission, I don't remember what the objective was but I was meant to fly somewhere and it warns me that my two unfinished side missions will be failed. Didn't start it yet because I just can't figure out how to do those side missions
this seems to be the general consensus, but i think the writer was just feeling a little pretentious. the game is a reasonable length, it just ends awkwardly and suffers from several other instances of awkwardness due to the pacing and obscure nature of the characters.
>It's a fun game anyway
it's not a deu sex game though
>the game is a reasonable length
It's the same length as HR. Both games will take around 30-40 to 100%. I agree with you. I think the writers simply failed to write a main plot for the game to has a satisfying conclusion. I don't think that's on Square. I think that's on the writers. Even if Square had ordered them to split the story in two and sell it as two separate games the writers should have done a better job of splitting it than they did.
If it is better than invisible war it qualifies.
This game is 6 years old and you people are, somehow, surprised that Squeenix cut the game up. How did you possibly not hear about that going into it?
after all these years this game still looks great
I think MD underperformed but it was also released during that era where if a game didn't sell 10 million copies and only sold 4 million it was a failure according to square.
maybe it's just hopium but i do think we will get a new deus to finish jensen's story, but it's gonna be a while and with square seemingly pissed at the performance of the western branch it's gonna be a LONG while.
MD is one of the few games which is mostly rated fairly ie there are barely any people who massively over or under rate it
i liked the credits. they included pics of the devs. it was a nice touch.
