I loved it, but it was literally my first quake.

I really like it, largely for the atmosphere and the character and sound design.
I'd love to see a sequel with a similar vibe, but I doubt it will ever happen.
Also, Johann Strauss is great, his voice is so creepy.
I replayed it a few months ago and it was still enjoyable.
However, I did first play it when I was like 16, so it's permanently nostalgia-tinted.

It's alright, but it's definitely one of the lesser Quake games.

You can't even run for the first half of the game or so. When you get transformed it starts playing better but who cares by then.
