Who knows. I doubt he thought it was going to be a "success", so much as an entry into a portfolio. It's easy to just say the movie is bad (because it is), but honestly, compared to other youtube / reviewer movies, its like okay. The plot and writing is bad, but the actual production was like, okay? It showed James at least as a competent director, IMO.
