I have. I just have been putting points in Vig, End, and Str and I beat him after 10 tries.
Not that hard desu. Just summon your bros and go for big heavy swings while on horseback. Ezpz and I was just level 56.

Yes I had I had like 40 str, 20 dex, 25 vig and endurance, wore ancient armor and kept horse upper cutting. Very simple he could only two shot me.

I killed him with my DEX/INT build. And I didn't even use the INT part of my build.

i did it on a str build, you can cheese it easily if you get rotten breath, need 15 faith 12 arc and a dragon heart to purchase the spell.

I went DEX/FTH and STR/INT since they were set up with confessors and Carian knights, and it's very different than I've played in all the other games, but now I'm regretting not having STR/FTH seeing these crusader armors pop up in threads.
My confessor is still wearing the starting gear because the aesthetic is just too good.

All the colours are slightly off so it makes it impossible to mix and match gear, doesn't help that some gear looks completely different in certain light (some armours go from silver to gold etc)

you dont need str to wear crusader armor, just a bit of endurance
even for weapons there are flails that are dex weapons but fit the role

Be aggressive and keep as close to him as you can.

Full armor seems wrong for the sneaky-sneak, but maybe I could keep the hood and just change out other parts. It's really the hood I have a hard time parting with. The cape is cool too, but I could stand to lose it.
The flails are what made me feel instantly vindicated for going that route. I've had the nightrider flail since it dropped.
