Aurelian died and we are still dealing with the consequences

They released such a shit game people stopped giving a crap about Hello Neighbor

at what point did anyone care about hello neighbor?

Game had a decent concept run into the ground by a piss poor development team and an emphasis on viral marketing that nobody cared about. Always felt it was trying too hard to be the next Five Nights at Freddy's.

Going all in on the "deepest lore" shit.

Which is sad because this had effort to it and was actually a game where as FNAF didn't have any effort in it and is as much a game as plumbers don't wear ties

>Game where you have to actively be on the look out and managing your resources is the same level as a slide show with occasional branching paths
Come on mate.

Too bad, never played a Freddy game, but if he cornered a market before competitors good for him. He beat them to the punch And that’s on them to cry about later.

The media guy got fired for this.

>No waifus for fan artists
>No buy

Too bad it tried chasing the fnaf hype, I kinda liked the idea of it at first

actually the issues started in early june of 68

For all the bad rep it still is a huge success on phones with kids.

fuck this timeline

it's literally a point and click game but only one room and no actual puzzles

Alpha ver was better

why would there be a cartoon of this? i dont get it

It's really funny that the alpha version was much more polished and fun to play than the final product

so matpat can dissect the lore kino

who is matpat??

Mediocre devs, absolutely incompetent marketing department and whatever the fuck the people who work communicating with the fanbase and potential buyers are called that actively hurt the game.

But they actually didn't, there is no deepest lore, just a bunch of eastereggs.

If they made the exact same game with anime girls it would have been a hit

They made an entire game around the "It's not a bug, it's a feature" excuse.

Going big on a concept that only worked small.

I watched like an hour long video essay on what went wrong and it appears what happened was that the devs chased after the big money maker for zoomers: lore.

What was the concept?
Never played it

Was this not just shovelware? I saw nothing of this game after watching a few Youtubers play it.

The moment e-eceleb trash started shilling it and kiddies at the time ate that crap up like an incel wasting his money on onlytrans

Gameplay is focused around the antagonist learning your methods of breaking into his home. He'll board up windows or put up alarms in order to keep you from breaking into his house.

You're finding out what he's hiding, although idk if they ever actually give an explanation.

They did and it's fucking retarded.
The Neighbor is actually someone who abused or molested you as a kid and the entire game is a trauma-induce dream/hallucination and inside the basement is a series of weird horror scenarios where you learn to get over your trauma, ending with you protecting your child self from a giant Neighbor by interposing yourself between the two and getting hit.
