HoD=SoTN>CotM>AoS

Why are modern games so afraid to have optional/hidden kino like this?

Probably don't want to waste time adding shit that most people aren't going to see or care about. The SotN bird hatching easter egg was pretty neat though.

>spoiler
What? I swear I learn something new about this game once a week

Clinically retarded.

genuinely don't see why anybody thinks that game has any worth. it's a classicvania in the shell of a very boring igavania and it's only cool feature is locked behind RNG and when you play the mode that gives you all the cards the game becomes broken.

DARK METAMOFOFIS

It's basically a meme to hate SotN at this point because it's so popular. I do think Aria is on par with it though, except obviously when it comes to graphics and sound quality.

There's a bird that nests beneath the lowest room of the Outer Wall where the telescope is. If you leave and reenter the room you can progressively see its chicks hatch, grow up and leave the nest, iirc it's an achievement in the PS4 port.

I'm interested in this.

HURRICANE

Which

How come post-SOTN games never experimented with additional RPG elements? Letting you pick your stats on level up seems like an obvious step forward

>Letting you pick your stats on level up seems like an obvious step forward
Seems like an obvious step towards interrupting everything in the middle of the game

Why

There's multiple ways to get around that. Not saying it would be an improvement, it just seems weird to me that they implemented RPG mechanics and never tinkered with them further

>level up
>have to stop and think about where you want to place your points instead of just continuing on your way

cotm has different stat growth passwords, but i think you need to beat the game multiple times to see different styles
it was janky, the metroidvanias were always janky

portrait of ruin and order of ecclesia also had growth based on amount of times certain attacks were used

it's wrong to say they didn't experiment, it was just put in badly and you really only restrict the ability to use variety when you're not using universal growth
