ITT: Post weird/shitty ports

This probably could have been more successful than the Wii U verison if they didn't gimp the online.

Out of the way, the absolute king of weird ports is here

>zombie game that at the time pushed the hardware to have as many zombies on screen as possible with about as many ways to kill them with tons of everyday objects
>port it to the extremely underpowered console, handful of zombies on screen at a time and rework it to an old RE4 engine so over the shoulder gun play is the best method
Really what the fuck were they thinking?

it's actually better than it's 7th gen counterpart
it's still shit compared to the previous nascar PS2 games

what was wrong with this port? I've never actually played it but based on the footage it seems like a pretty good conversion of the ps1 version.

Is something that exist but it was released on the gba when the game was supposed to be an anniversary game that hasn't been released on anything else or remeasted never due to ms pacman

Still makes me disappointed they didn't use zones from the portable games for all the zones, massive missed opportunity

not even the weirdest dead rising port

>port it to the extremely underpowered console
Not a bad thing on its own.

>JSR gba port

What was it with so many Wii U games getting 3DS ports? Super Smash Bros 4 had one too.

the wii u sold like shit, and the 3ds was doing really well

Smash 4 was a dual release

R-Type 3 on GBA
Stargate on Genesis
Bayonetta on PS3

between the PS2 having something like 150 million units floating around and the wii being just an overclocked gamecube that also had 100 million units floating around, late 2000s games consistently had downscaled ports for those two and it was always the weirdest shit. even weirder is that a lot of them were actually better than the "real" games or at least worthy alternate takes instead of how usually those things wind up just being shitty inferior takes on the same thing

This and every other fighting game port on the 3DS. Like, it's weird how many of them there were for the system around launch, and the weirder part is that most of them not only played competently but most of them featured the same amount of content as their console counterparts (except Tekken)

SONIC BOOM SONIC BOOM FLASH KICK FLASH KICK SONIC BOOM FLASH KICK SONIC BOOM

The worst part of this one was that if you used the simplified controls you were able to just spam charge moves with no delay, completely breaking the balance. But I think the reason so many fighting games came over was the novelty of a current gen console game being on a handheld and being (roughly) the same.

I found it weird too, There's a lot of them.

Oh you want to talk Sonic, how about the time they ported the original 1991 Sonic to the GBA and it had a literally unplayable framerate? And this was after Sonic Advance was already out and ran at 60fps

Onto go Smash
Also 3DS had better modes, too bad that fucked over the WiiU version at cost

The most disastrous handheld of all time which people only remember for its mafia involvement had SSX on it.

It's only the localized version which tried to pass it off as a port, in Japan the PS3/360 one is called Sonic Generations: White Space-Time and the 3DS one is called Sonic Generations: Blue Adventure

and then the devs said it wasn't possible to port sonic 1 to the GBA perfectly only to be BTFO by a fan doing JUST THAT.
