You know that host only had two invaders because he summoned two phantoms using the taunter's tongue and the invader managed to kill them to open up another slot for the co-invader, and then got another one autosummoned against him

I've been invading plenty and it's still super fun even if you're ganked so long as you play it smart. Ganks are a non issue in big open spaces given the amount of AOE and ranged choices you get. Invading is much more fun than it was in DS3 where it was just roll spam constantly.
