The remake of Resident Evil 2 came out 3 years ago. What are your honest thoughts on this game now Any Forums?

1st scenario is fun and interesting, 2nd one gets annoying and isn't very engaging.

Fun. Still prefer the fear of the original, but it's fun. The new take on HUNK mode is cool too.

I'm more of a SHfag so I've never played the original RE2, but for what it's worth I think this remake is one of the best games of the last decade. It's a perfect blend of the elegant simple game design of the past with all the wonders of modern processing power. We usually get one or the other; games that call back to old school simple design with pixelshit graphics, or horizon zero dawn type games that look spectacular but are full of feature bloat and filler

As someone who didn't have nostalgia for the original I thought it was shit. The only thing it has going for it are the graphics and the RPD section. Too bad that once you leave the station the game turns to absolute dogshit and there is still a lot of game afterwards. The guns all feel like plastic toys and have no recoil whatsoever therefore aren't fun to shoot with. Some of the most unsatisying headshots in any resident evil game.

I loved everything about it except Mr. X, the novelty of him chasing you around wears off pretty quickly. The way his AI teleports around the map until he finds you is really lazy.

The graphics were fantastic
but I’m a bigger fan of the action RE (RE4 and later), back tracking and ammo management was annoying but it’s a personal preference, I’m sure true survival fags love that kind of bullshit, I give it a 3/5

A very good game, only thing they fucked up was the B route and some cut content, but besides that it was pretty fun an one of the best games from the last few years.

This. That's one thing that annoys me about so many modern "M" rated games that are chocked full of obscenities just for the sake of being edgy. Overuse of a particular word (especially shit and fuck) loses its impact after a while.

Needs to be remade again. The game is too antiquated at this point and the graphics don’t hold up. I also don’t think Claire plays enough of an important role; she needs to portrayed as stronger. It’s important to have positive strong portrayals of women in this cultural climate.

I like that. There were many times I said out loud "Jesus Christ!" and then Leon had the same reaction as me and repeated the same thing I said.
