War bad 1+2

Convenient excuse or does Nintendo really care?

Probably both.

Care about what?

They had to either pull out of Russia or claim to do something. This was that something.

slavs

Huh?

Convenient excuse, but bonus points

It was never coming out in Japan anyways. Nintendo probably doesn't care in the long term if the permanently axe this (which they will) since Way Forward was the driving force behind it.

excuse of course. Why say you wasted time and can't make the appointed date when you can blame a scapegoat completely unrelated?

It's a business move. They think it will sell less due to the war being on everyone's mind, so they put it off until they have what they think is a better window.

Jokes on them, there's never going to be a better window unless they port it to the Switches successor.

>Advance wars 1 came out a few days before 9/11 in the US making it get its other release delayed
>Remake is getting delayed because of ukraine invasion
This series is cursed.

Chances are wayforward fucked up so hard nintendo was looking for any reason to kill it

They delayed it to make Olaf look more like Putin. The main story is also hastily being rewritten to make him the primary antagonist.

Retail release will be cancelled and will be an e shop exclusive. Calling it now.

the entire tutorial and the first couple of missions of the first game focus on a war against not!Russia so it's certainly convenient

Why would it benefit them to cancel a game this close to release? They clearly want it out and believe this was a smart decision. Given the circus that is western news media I could actually see them coming down on nintendo for releasing this mid-war. Even if it is so, so clearly fake.

Convenient care. They mind their corporate image.

It wouldn't be the first time Nintendo cancelled a completed game based off of arbitrary reasons.

When have they? I'm seriously thinking and can't come up with any times.

They didn't want to give Russia any tactical training.
