Not enough demand for narrative by the fans. Mortal Kombat will always be the peak and it's not setting the bar high. It's interesting, because at least when it was released, Deception's campaign was highly regarded, but I guess the game didn't do well enough for other fighters to follow suit

MK has good lore but it's storytelling sucks. Street Fighter tried to jump on the bandwagon but they fucked up easiest layup with the SFV story and less said about Tekken, the better. The only story mode worth a damn is maybe Rival Schools & Project Justice.
