Soul vs Souless

Right unironically looks better just based off the sky alone

CRT more like HRT

Scanlines are a meme, composite dithering is not.

>muh playing video games from 1 inch away from the screen

actual CRTs aren't a meme but I'd prefer left over one of those shitty filters

both look like shit
FUCK that rendered shit

>blurry is good

Soul
Soulless

That is exactly what that user was talking about, and I have to agree. That shit is SOVL

>pixels are good

>blending is bad

>zoomers have this fabricated image of what they think crts looked like

>implying right is an actual CRT

>composite dithering
So which youtuber made a video about this? Because I’m starting to see cringekids use this term a lot the past few days.

Lazy developers just took shortcuts with graphics as CRTs were hiding this.
LCD reveals which companies were the biggest jews.

>inb4 a gorillion faggots reply top looks better

perfectly acceptable term for that.

That's not it, really.

The games art and sprites were designed for a time when screens were almost all CRT with scanlines, not pixellated and digital

the top does have colors that pop more, even if it's nowhere near as smooth

It's not just that it looks better, combined with a real console it has ZERO input lag. I don't understand emulatorfags.

It is. Look at the thumbnail, that's a lot closer to what you will actually see when playing and without crt filter it looks better and more detailed.

Here I made it even better

>someone in my city is giving away a 32" Wega (flat-screen Trinitron)
>look up the specs
>it weighs 165 pounds

Do I go for it? If I did, I'd need a stand that can support the weight

Any shaders that do just that?

stand? put it on the fucking floor like everyone else did

CRTs are good if you're playing old 240p games which were meant to get mangled by a horrible quality component signal. They're mostly shit for everything else, including older PC games which were meant to display through a high quality VGA connection and much higher resolution than consoles meant for consumer TVs.

I got a 36” that was 220 lb. Minimum two people to carry and it doesn’t have anywhere good to grip it

that's because it's not a real CRT but a CRT filter on the same display as the top image

lol

Do it
