Mine suddenly dissappeared one day, I was mad, but it was around the time where the Wii was already a year old so I forgot about it, but had so many good things there, like my chao for starters.

>blocks
Why did they make up their own stupid memory size unit instead of just telling you how many bytes are on it

>mfw i have 3 251 memory cards
>plus another 59 card
>plus 59 card animal corssing edition
>plus 59 card pokemon colosseum edition

you miss paying fifty dollars for 2 megabytes of memory?

>Memory card is positioned diagonally instead of straight up like everything is nowadays
And people still deny that soul exists.

i kinda miss my clear memory card

It was so soulful.

A lot of people in the early 2000s probably wouldn't know what a byte is.
>but I did, only retards wouldn't know
Remember, you could still live without a computer and internet until ~2008.

Oh fuck off there was nothing cool about memory cards at all
>Can store maybe 5 games worth of saves on one card
>Or that one game which hogs the entire card

>finally decide to mod my wii and back up my gamecube memory card
>Hey user! I haven't seen you in 180 Months
>Look up how long that is

I have two of them still, one of which I got for free with Animal Crossing

>I miss paying for memory space
Nintentards

You still do.

>start up console
>get message that the memory card is corrupted and needs to be formatted
>turn off console, remove card and put it back in, restart console
>everything is fine, no problems

>all those kids with parents who didn't understand why they needed memory cards so they kept replaying tutorial levels for years

i dont miss overpaying for storage

They were following Sony's example

>251 blocks
I bought a 256mb card on ebay a while back and it was funny seeing millions of blocks.

physical memory cards are so much more convenient than how saves work on modern consoles, it never should have been like this

oh ya losing your saves cause you misplaced something makes so much more fucking sense than just saving to the onboard storage that is already there

I remember Jak 2 had a 1mb save file for some fucking reason and being blown away at that kind of filesize.

I would much rather risk losing a piece of plastic that you almost never had to remove from the console than be told I'm not allowed to copy my saves or have to pay to back up saves to a cloud when I am.

Some consoles are really weird about transferring save files. Like the Wii won't even let you if the game had an online mode.
With a memory card you just plug it in.

i don't. gamecube memory cards especially had horrendous storage capacity.

>buy kingdom hearts 2
>it wasn't compatible with my third party memory card

10$ for 2mb of flash storage in 2001 wasn't that overpriced.

>Kingdom hearts 1 didn't like my fucking madcatz controller
