is there a bigger meme than gaming laptops? theyre always so shit

ok boomer

Who are you quoting? Literally no one here said that.

Buying a laptop at all when you arent some kind of businessman that has to travel a lot and need a PC for work is a joke. Students can get a pass as well for dragging it around a campus too but your average joe who buys a laptop and doesnt leave the fucking house with it is a moron.

I use a laptop solely for hooking my Cintiq up to so I can draw anywhere.

>playing while you're out "interacting" with others

I just use it for porn games

Laptops are just shit and don't know they never improve for 20-30 years of existing.

I bought a $2500 like a half year back or so. I use it at work, and also sort of live between 2 houses. No regrets. For someone in my situation, it works very well.
Has a 3070 and a 300hz screen. 17 inch. Pretty good though obviously you'd get much better value from a desktop.

Imagine not loading up Worms or a HoMM hotseat and passing the laptop around the room with your bros.
Not the best setup but god damn were those times good.

It specifies going out, like to an actual activity.

That is the situation that laptops were made for. Too many people see it as a desktop replacement and then leave it on a desk for its entire life though while they complain about how slow it is or how they cant upgrade it.

that's all laptops though, especially if they don't have a unibody design

is there anything that can be done when the entire body of the laptop is destroyed like that?

Nothin' that a bit of duct tape can't fix, ol'boy

Aside from moving all of the internals into a new body generally no. It all depends on the make and model but most of the time the hinge fails in such a way that it destroys the entire assembly that holds it and the entire assembly is an integral part to the casing itself.

>macbook wannabe anything is going to be good at its job
That shit looks weak as fuck and thin as a korean to be a proper gaming laptop.

dell laptop moment

holy cope

i still use a laptop i bought in 2008
learn to take care of your shit

like 2/3rds of the economy the last 10 years has been based around tradesmen doing FIFO (fly-in fly-out) work in remote locations
when you have 2 weeks at work in some copy-paste little work accom and your good PC is 1000 miles away at home what the fuck are you supposed to do?

Old stuff was made to last longer.
>have a HP pavilion from 2009
>dual core 1.3 and like 4gb of ram
>after all this years the motherboard has fucking rust on one side but still works for the very basic, sister uses it for exel and that crap no problem
>my dentist bought a new HP laptop last week for her kid because remote classes and wanted me to check it out because its "too slow" and a program is eating all the resources
>they paid a less than i offer for 2 used ones i have (thinkpad x201 and a HP elitebook)
>its a thin as fuck no removable battery 2 USB ports and a fucking dual core 1.5ghz with 4GB of ram and botnet10
>the software that was "eating the resources" was task manager
>this shit can barely handle a single window opened
>try to install win7 but there are literally no drivers for a shit ton of stuff so device manager is a mess
>ended up with 8.1 and i cant really notice any difference but whatever, its not my machine
>every time we talked about this situation i allways recommended her to just get a disposable cheap tablet
>suddently i have to make a miracle to make a machine just like the one i bought over a decade ago faster somehow

It does look like an inspiron from 2015.
