To add to this, the new lore seems to suggest that the Light and Shadow (now Void lmao) are cosmic forces that, when fully unleashed, bring about only terrible things for anyone and everyone.
The Void is self explanatory, consuming all life into the vast nothingness, while the Light seeks to preserve and maintain everything, even if it means subjecting it to imprisonment in stasis.
