Since the developers of Horizon Forbidden West are directly comparing their game to Elden Ring it seems a discussion about the two games can be had.

Why did Horizon Forbidden West perform so poorly compared to Elden Ring? The developers of Forbidden West seem to believe they created a superior game, but the sales and reviews indicate otherwise. It seems players vastly prefer to play Elden Ring over Horizon. Is Elden Ring just a more interesting and fun game? Are ZD's devs wrong when they claim their guided quest design is superior to Elden Ring's exploration quest design?

Why do the Horizon devs think attractive women cannot be tough? Have they never seen a female athlete before?

I tried the first Horizon and it's technically a good game but very bland. Same seemed to be the case with the sequel.
Also I don't want to play as an ugly woman.

This isn't really related to the attractive/unattractive debacle from this game bit I still don't understand why they have all this pseudo native american aesthetics but the protag is a ginger white girl
Just seems odd

>the original model portraying Aloy looked like she would "cry if she broke a nail."
Now that's what I call sexism.

>pretty women aren't strong
hahaha, when you try to be pro-woman but are more misogynistic than the biggest incels on the internet

That explains all those shills on Any Forums.

there's no such thing as "technical good" games. if a game is boring, it is shit

It's probably not a good idea to make your protagonist that ugly.
It'd be a different story if it were some kind of parody game, or a surreal horror, but it's not, and Aloy looks like a caricature.
At the very least, don't use the face in all of your marketing and slap it on the boxart.

Elden Ring is a real game not just a checklist with cutscenes

This is obviously a very sexist comment to make. Why did the Horizon devs get a pass for making such a sexist comment, but other devs have been cancelled for much less?

It seems it's okay to be sexist when you are directing sexism at attractive women.

Elden Ring has issues but it simply a more interesting and fun game to play, I'd say. Horizon just gives me huge Ubishit vibes and that's been done a hundred times before in recent years.
I'd honestly say Elden Ring has more in common with Morrowind than I would something like modern Asscreed.

>make up a fake article and get mad about it
so this is the power of Any Forums

There are ways to add masculine/strong features to a face and still have said face be distinctly feminine/attractive or at least not bloated and fucked up, it's like these niggas have never seen viking based fiction or fem-orc porn in their entire lives which I seriously doubt.

At least Elden Ring is trying interesting things, Horizon is just a badly reskined Ass creed

I only played like 4 hours of the first Horizon game and the quest design was as bland as it gets, what kind of delusion is this. I really doubt there was any notable upgrade in the sequel.

the fuck does he mean by " game UX?"

The sequel is pretty much just prettier.

"User experience" - aka how to make the menus devoid of soul, by trying to make them retard-proof.

ah i thought me meant to imply that a game must be designed to seem challenging while infact being easy to make the player feel good about themselves

Everything in Horizon looks like paint by numbers. One of those games that before I even touch it I can already tell how everything is going to play out, every jump, every quest, every slowmo attack, every commute between waypoints, mindlessly following the dotted line because the game is designed to not expect me to pay attention so why would I. FromSoftware has done a good job of twisting their souls formula with every game just enough that new titles feel fresh but still familiar enough to attract a fanbase.

Expected as much, the gameplay was fine I guess, but the setting, story, quests and characters were just nothing to me. I think I would only play the sequel if it gets included as a """free""" game in ps plus.

Basically, let's copy the Destiny UI again

I mean the UI is okay and from made some retarded decisions.
But i guess some things are deliberate decision like not being able to hotkey spells and arts.

Cause hfw 8s just bland sterile ass ass in clone there are literally nothing that can surprise you
While in er in yout first 30 minutes you can get to that one chest and get tped to caelid or find your way to eternal city

Nah, it's a position that was made to alter what the UI devs make, and it's how we end up with and things like the new GoW menus.

I stopped playing when I got to leave the starting village.

Should I buy elden ring at full price right now? I've never played a souls game, but I think ER looks interesting and I plan on buying it when/if it goes on sale, but seeing westoids seethe makes me want to buy it NOW.

Horizon is a game meant for "everyone". It plays safe and copies proven elements from other games, which also means that it doesn't stand out in any way (graphics are nice I guess, but there's also that uncanny valley, especially with noclipping villains lmao)

Elden Ring isn't a game for "everyone". FROM found it's own niche with Souls and continues to evolve in their own way. And surprise, surprise, finds out there's a lot of people who are not "everyone".

I think it's worth the price. It's a big game with a lot to do and explore. Some of my friends have 100+ hours in and they still haven't beaten the game yet. You can limit your exploration and finish it much quicker if you want. I personally don't pay full price for games unless they last a long time. I'm pretty patient to wait for games to go on sale if I know it's gonna be a 6 or 7 hour game tops. Elden is worth the price.

Can you transfer saves from the pirated version?

Horizon 1 and 2 both look like bland shit. I'm happy they keep getting BTFO by a better game.

The white native thing seemed a little more problematic to me as well.
