Is there a lore reason why ever soldier in Elden Ring is dead silent and only groans?

We see them going on patrols, sitting in camps, doing tasks but they never say a word. Are they mindless automatons?

Are Godrick and the gatekeeper guy the only two people who can talk in Stormveil castle? Was castle Morne just the commander and his daughter living with a bunch of mute knights?

You're Tarnished, they want nothing to do with you.

No they were also living with beastmen servants. However you see how that went.

But if you sneak up on their camp and hide in a bush they never say anything either.
Is 99% of the population mindless in Elden Ring? Even the weird villages you find they just stand around and groan.

Miyazacki forgot that he was writing an actual living breathing world instead of a decrepit one so he just reskinned the hollow from dark souls and called it a day.

Do you really want some pointless repeated phrases to hear as you sneak around in camps? Small company focused on gameplay over simulation.

Why the fuck do none of them have conversations with each other. It would have been a good way of indirectly giving you information about the world.

This entire company is about repeating shit so its part of their playbook

there is no lore in this game.
Only pieces of random incoherent generic fantasy fragments with no relation to one another
thats supposed to trigger the tranny nerd brains into imagining their own story.
They wrote the random snippets on George RR Martin's used toilet paper sheets and that was his contribution.

theyre literally hollows bro. erdtree sucking out their souls and shit

>Do you really want some pointless repeated phrases to hear as you sneak around in camps?
Yes... it would add life to the world. It could even drop lore and world building in vague way or hint at bosses. Like soldiers at campfire mentioning a dragon at the lake or rumors of a cave etc.

Miyazaki's worlds feel so empty of life and hollow which can work as a setting and tone like in Dark Souls but I think it comes off as weird in Elden Ring and makes the world feel shallow.
Why do the soldiers even make camp sites if they're just zombies that patrol day and night. We find remains of a noble at the entrance of raya lucaria who was trying to gain entrance to learn sorcery implying there is some sort of society of people. But then we never actually see any of it.

They are just reskinned undead, retard.
its Dark souls 4 just rebranded.

>It would have been a good way of indirectly giving you information about the world.
The funny thing is that you could do that in Sekiro by eavesdropping, and in BB enemy npc would say phrases while attacking you.

>Focused on gameplay.
You didnt play elden ring did you.

>The Godrick Soldiers of the Lands Between now roam the landscape, their clothes rags, hoping to rebuild their lives
They don't seem hollow to me.

The Shattering caused the Lands Between to be abandoned by the Greater Will, and most of the people afterwards lost the illuminating, golden light of grace, and so lost their minds, endlessly pursuing what little remains of their wills. Tarnished are people who lost their light, but then grace was granted to them again in order for them to fulfill their purpose and become a new Elden Lord to mend the Elden Ring and restore the Golden Order, granting grace back to everyone again.

>Is 99% of the population mindless in Elden Ring?
No just the players.

TARNISHED, A FOUL TARNISHED
AWAY AWAY
IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT
YOU GRACELESS RAT

All the Souls games are retread of a destroyed world populated by mindless enemies and a small smattering of NPCs who must be complete schizos because they spend their entire lives alone.

Elden Ring does same pattern but falls in awkward middle ground where you see the static evidence of people living lives but no actual people. There are apparent settlements and npcs foraging for supplies and caravans etc but they're all actually mindless enemies.

It'd would've been kino if some of the human enemies had voice lines and there were more random NPCs like in TES, Witcher, or Kingdom Come.

THIS LAND'S FINISHED

Tarnished can’t understand them, you speak different languages, when they talk it doesn’t sound like words

How come the gatekeeper can talk to us?

STOP TARNISHED SCUM
YOU'VE VIOLATED THE LAW YOUR RUNES ARE NOW FORFEIT

>focuses on gameplay
>except when its combat, arcade features for fun and replayability, NG+ content, controls, variety
>it only focuses on art simulation of very nihilistic ruined landscapes
