The worst part wasn't the lack of differences in the endings, but rather that they wrote themselves into a corner where only "destroy" doesn't seem like an out of place fantasy choice.

I hate the ending but not because it feels like it all boils down to A, B or C but because the aftermath of your decision feels so rushed. Even with the extended ending it feels like they could only throw in a few slideshows and a couple cutscenes that are supposed to be a testimony to your 100+ hour journey. If you based someones gameplay on just the ending alone it would seem like they all made nearly the exact same decisions.
